Single Leg Hip Raise
How To: Lie with your upper back on a exercise ball. Bend one knee at 90 degrees and extend your other leg so that your heel and hip form a straight line. Drive your hips up toward the ceiling while keeping your one leg elevated. Pause and lower your hips back to the starting position.
Main Muscles: Glutes, Hamstrings & Core
This single leg hip raise seems like a great way for me to exercise my core and hamstrings. Unfortunately, I don’t have an exercise ball at home. Is there any way for me to do this exercise using equipment around my home? It seems like I should be able to do this leaning against my couch.
Hi Deanna,
Yes, you probably could use your couch. You can also find an exercises ball at Walmart or your local sporting goods store for about $10.
All the best,
